David Pistolesi, who joined the board in 2018, was a long term advisor to the student athlete population at the University of Pittsburgh.  At the University he also wore another hat, working with Nathan Davis in planning and coordinating the annual Jazz Seminar and Concert, as well as editing the International Journal of Jazz. As a musician he is primarily a percussionist, having played in a wide range of settings, from classical to country and western.
